Locomotion & Behavior | Bipedal ceratopsian herbivore possessing a parrot-like shearing beak and long quill-like bristles along its tail. Common throughout the Early Cretaceous of East Asia, Psittacosaurus coexisted with feathered theropods of the Jehol Biota including [Caudipteryx](/dinosaurs/caudipteryx) and [Sinornithosaurus](/dinosaurs/sinornithosaurus). | Gregarious horned herbivore that gathered in massive herds numbering hundreds of individuals, as demonstrated by catastrophic bonebed deposits. In the Dinosaur Park Formation, Centrosaurus coexisted with fellow ceratopsians like [Styracosaurus](/dinosaurs/styracosaurus) and duck-billed hadrosaurs like [Corythosaurus](/dinosaurs/corythosaurus). |
Holotype & Fossils | Over 1,000 skeletons, including nesting assemblages with babies and skin-preserved holotypes. | Megabonebeds in Dinosaur Provincial Park yielding thousands of bones and dozens of intact skulls. |
